ABOUT CATHY BEHRNS....

In 2001 Cathy began her radio career at KZUM 89.3 FM as a producer of the Exploring Unexplained Phenomena-- becoming the show's Co-Host in 2007.  After nearly two years of co-hosting the EUP program, Cathy felt it was time to listen to her intuitive voices and move forward on her personal path.  She resigned her duties at EUP and waited for the spirit to find its way....

Through a number of synchronicities, Mind, Body, Spirit Radio came into being within days, despite it was lifetimes in the making.  Mind, Body, Spirit Radio gives Cathy a venue to share with her audience, her passion for spiritual practice, music and personal evolution.  And since Mind, Body, Spirit Radio is streamed on the Worldwide Web, she can share her passion....with the world.

"Through my radio programming I hope to offer a sort of healing for people--personal growth--and that's why I love being on the radio," says Cathy.  "Whether it's asking that pertinent question of a guest that inspires a listener's ah-ha moment, or my playing music that touches the soul, heart or mind--that's what it's all about for me."

In addition to Mind-Body-Spirit Radio, Cathy hosts and produces a blues program on KZUM FM--My Deja Blues.  When she isn't behind the microphone, Cathy is General Manager of Sunrise Communications--parent of KZUM-HD 89.3 FM.   Cathy has long-since recognized her natural intuitive abilities, and loves all aspects of energy work--another passion in her life.

"I love helping people get a little, or a lot of clarity in their lives through the work that I do," says Behrns.  "And it's not really just ME doing the work or offering the insight, information, or healing.  It is truly the energy from Spirit that is flowing through me--flowing through....us.

In her spare time Cathy is a freelance writer with the hopes and intent of penning a series of novels.  She also loves to cook with her husband David, laugh lots, take long walks outside in nature, and hang with her two grown children and daughter-in-law....when all of their schedules allow.  Cathy also shares her home with two catnip-lovin' cats....obviously, humor abounds!

ABOUT GARY GABELHOUSE....

Gary is and always has been an explorer, both of the physical world and of the interior realms of the body, mind and spirit. His international adventures and expeditions allowed him to study ancient and primitive religious ceremony on six of the Earth’s seven continents. Gabelhouse studied neurobiology, animal behavior and bio-psychology at the University of Nebraska. He explored the contemplative disciplines of Eastern religions and how such practices affected brain chemistry.

After graduation, Gabelhouse’s interests in religion and religious ceremony led him to become a seminarian and later an Associate Pastor at Epworth United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. During this time he studied at Ilif Seminary in Denver, Colorado and under the auspices of the Ecumenical Institute, researched the neurobiology of meditation and prayer. In 1969 Gabelhouse was initiated into the practice of Transcendental Meditation. Some years later and while working as a climbing instructor at the L’ecole du Alpinism in Leysin, Switzerland, Gabelhouse had the opportunity to study TM directly under the founder of the movement, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Gabelhouse’s climbs and expeditions took him all over the world and immersed him in many cultures. These expeditions gave him a window of opportunity to experience and directly study Shamanism and animism in Africa and South America as well as Shingon and Tibetan Buddhism, and Shintoism in Asia.

Through his membership in the Explorers Club, Gabelhouse was befriended by other adventurers and scientists: Willie Unsoeld, Dick Pownall and Dr. Barry Bishop (1st American Everest Expedition); Royal Robbins (father of American rock climbing); Yvon Chouinard (famous alpinist and founder of Patagonia);  Isaac Asimov (science fiction writer); Hugh Downs (Today Show host and world class sailor); Jim Fowler (Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom fame); and Heinrich Harrer (Austrian climber and mentor to the Dalai Lama who wrote Seven Years In Tibet).

During martial-arts training trips to Japan, he also studied the relationship of martial arts with Buddhist religious ceremony, and was in residence at the Shingon Buddhist monasteries of Koyasan, Japan. Gabelhouse continues to train and teach both Daitoryu Aikijujitsu and Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate--holding advanced dan ranking in both.

Gabelhouse has worked as a naturalist, biology teacher, dock worker, pastor, hod carrier, Swiss climbing guide, martial-arts instructor, magician, door man, gambler, river guide, security consultant, musician, writer, sales executive, and is currently an active author of thrillers and CEO of a media-research firm. Hobbies include bonsai cultivation, oil painting, fishing, collecting art, religious artifacts and Japanese swords.
